*Fun Day With Nick*
This page is all about a day Captain
Walleye Pete took his son Nick fishing, with posts from the
TidalFish.com : Message Boards, and pics from the trip. They
went June 2, 2004.

Hello All,
Today is one of those days when I know I'm going to enjoy it......Had a last
minute trip cancel, so....I woke up my son and said come on buddy lets go
fish'in. Nick and I are going out of St Jeromes creek... we are going to
practice our jigging techniques and we'll just plain enjoy a day on the water.
Don't get to many of these lately....if the afternoon storms hit we'll run to
smith island and eat or grab a bed and breakfast if the storms hang around
enough. I'll report back on how we do.....take care and good luck fish'in......

Hello all,
What a day.. flat seas and fish all over in the open bay. Many pods of breaking
Stripers and Blues in the bay near the shipping channel. Also, over in the area
of the middle grounds fish were active on top. I lucked into some trout down
tide from breaking blues on two different occasions. Just on a hunch I really
concentrated on the bottom down tide side of breaking fish. What a
rush....tap....zing...........................! All said and done 8 trout over
30". Biggest being about 34" caught by Nick. It was a thrill for him but my
thrill dwarfed his....LOL. He caught 3 of the 8 and we lost several while the
bite was on. The normal structures didn't hold the trout. Its was breaker
hopping that did it for us today......good thing is the trout are not extinct. I
kept 6 trout....1 for us and 5 for a family with 12 kids....yes 12! Figure they
could get one good meal this weekend out of that.
The bay looked healthy to me yesterday.....plenty
of charter boats chumming it up and catching and plenty of room for tight tackle
guys to do there thing. So.......go get'm boys.....

Heres some
pics of Pete and Nick and the fish they caught that day.
